Our family is originally from Washington state, but currently resides in Central Illinois. We keep busy taking care of our first house, working on our yard, playing together, serving at church, and spending time with our friends. Tim's job in human resources at a local meat-packing plant brings new adventures daily and Mindy is a SAHM, in addition to owning a Scentsy business and working as a part-time writer for The Source newspaper. Ella just started preschool and is loving it! Ezra is growing up fast and will soon be chasing after Ella! Mindy authors this blog to stay in touch with our family and friends.
We woke up Easter morning to - snow! All of the little girls at church had their pastel Easter dresses on with tights and winter coats. Here's Ella in the outfit Grandma Cathy sent and one with mommy too!
We went to an Easter Egg Hunt in the community park on Saturday morning. New lesson for our family: When you have a garage, you have to go outside to check the weather. Tim had to run home and get our winter stuff (it was so warm the day before, we didnt' need coats). As you can see, Ella is freezing. She didn't really get what we were up to, but liked the candy inside. It was mayhem, with people running for eggs. Next year, we'll do a leisurely hunt at home.
Ella was entertaining herself last night and I looked over to discover she'd progressed from trading out the yellow and purple pacifiers to fitting them both in her mouth at once. From the twinkle in her eye, I could tell she knew this was funny and was quite proud of her joke.
Ella is constantly watching mom and dad and wanting to imitate us. We bought a new bookshelf the other night. Tim started to put it together and Ella was eager to help. She's also discovered bubbles and wanted to create some too.
Ella has a newfound love for mittens. At first, handing them to me was just her way of saying, "Let's play outside, please," but now she loves them indoors too. I love to watch her wiggle her little fingers inside of them and experiment with how different it feels to grab things with them on. Apparently, they're great for all kinds of occasions - including wearing with pjs and playing with slinkies.
